2017 Super Duty arrives at Friendly Ford

The 2017 Ford Super Duty, the strongest-built pickup truck ever built by Ford Motor Co., has arrived at Friendly Ford. With a body built out of high-strength military grade aluminum, the much sought-after Super Duty started turning heads as soon as the first shipment arrived at the dealership, at 660 N. Decatur Blvd.

The Super Duty has the highest-ever towing and payload capacities; bigger, stronger and more capable axles; and all new upgraded steering and suspension components.

Friendly Ford sales consultant David Boehle, who attended a class on the Super Duty several weeks ago at Auto Club Speedway in Ontario, California, said the added torque in the new model is unmatched.

“It has 925 pound-feet torque and 440 horsepower with the 6.7 -liter turbo diesel, and it’s unbelievable,” said Boehle, a 22-year veteran of the car business who is master certified for sales and also master certified for commercial trucks up to F-750s. “In each case, that’s best-in-class.”

Boehle said the list of equipment available in the 2017 Super Duty also includes the Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera with a 360-degree camera with split-view display that also includes rear CHMSL camera, which allows the driver to back up to a fifth-wheel hookup.”

“In addition, the Super Duty is available with a camera that is able to be mounted on the back of any trailer,” added Boehle. “A cable goes with the camera and enables the driver to see what’s behind the trailer when backing up.”

The 2017 Super Duty also has trailer tire pressure monitoring, adaptive steering, lane keeping alert blind spot with cross traffic alert, 8-inch productivity screen and enhanced upfitter switches with four 25 amp switches and two 40-amp switches.

Also featured is the 110-vote/400 watt power outlets for numerous functions.

“In all of the years that I have been selling Ford trucks, this is the company’s greatest accomplishment,” said Boehle. “Ford left absolutely nothing uncovered with this model.”

Boehle said the list of buyers especially includes contractors who want the 250-550 chassis cab.

“Customers who have camper/recreational vehicles want this truck for the goose-neck and fifth wheel capabilities,” Boehle explained. “The Super Duty also has trailer sway control, which prevents a trailer from swaying while in traffic.”

The 2017 Super Duty is available in a various models including the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch and Platinum. Other available engines include a 6.2 V-8 engine, along with fuel capacities of as much as 48 gallons.

“Ford has built a Super Duty for every conceivable person,” explained Boehle. “The fever for the truck has been incredible dating back to when the truck was being designed.”

Friendly Ford opened in 1970. The dealership is a 17-time winner of the prestigious President’s Award, Ford’s highest single honor for customer satisfaction.
