Infiniti’s full power, luxury on display in the 2017 QX80

When Infiniti designers came up with the concept of the QX80, they drew inspiration from the power and luxury of private jets for its full-size SUV and its 5.6-liter V-8 engine with 400 horsepower.
The latest model has taken that powerful engine, aerodynamic design and interior comfort even further with a number of revolutionary elements. “Our Hydraulic Body Motion Control system, for example, gives the driver better cornering and a smoother ride at any speed,” Park Place Infiniti General Manager Rob Schweizer said. “That’s an especially pleasant surprise to second- and third-row passengers. No matter whether you are behind the wheel or in the shotgun seat, the 2017 QX80 is an exciting ride.”
The manufacturer also has brought to this model enhanced safety features, such as the Predictive Forward Collision Warning system. This laser-guided monitoring system senses not only the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also that of a vehicle traveling in front of the preceding one.
“It provides two warnings to the driver as the vehicle moves toward impact,” Schweizer said. “If the driver takes no action, the system engages the brakes to help avoid a collision or mitigate the effects of an impact.”
With such peace of mind, drivers and passengers can more fully enjoy the QX80’s inner beauty. The interior is crafted with rich textures, including leather-appointed seats. Meanwhile, noise-insulating glass allows the driver to enjoy music or the simplicity of silence.
Rear-seated passengers can enjoy abundant legroom in captain’s chairs with optional heating, or an available bench seat can accommodate up to eight. On a longer drive, passengers can experience their own personal entertainment with available dual 7-inch screens, while second-row passengers can play their own movies or games, even as those in the front enjoy their own music. In keeping with its reputation for intuitive design, Infiniti keeps the entertainment organized with specially designed spaces for wireless headphones, remotes and any devices passengers bring along.
As with most Infiniti models, the QX80 is available with a navigation system that has voice recognition and NavTraffic, which provides detailed traffic information from SiriusXM on a high-resolution screen.
