Bullets pass through wall, strike man in central Las Vegas

Updated August 30, 2017 - 1:27 am

One person was shot Tuesday night in the central valley, Las Vegas police said.

Officers responded to reports of the shooting about 9:55 p.m. to a business complex at 1516 E. Tropicana Ave., near Maryland Parkway, Lt. David Gordon said.

A man in his 50s was inside a suite at the complex when he was shot at least twice through the wall, Gordon said.

“It is not clear at this point whether the victim was the intended target or an unlucky victim in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Gordon said.

The man was taken to a local hospital and is stable, according to Lt. Greg Munson. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Munson said everyone involved in the shooting appears to be detained or in custody. He said it was unclear if any businesses in the complex were open at the time of the shooting.
