Las Vegas police investigate fatal crash in northeast valley

One person died Friday morning after a car crashed into a wall in the northeast Las Vegas Valley, police said.

Patrol officers were called just before 9:15 a.m. to the intersection of North Nellis Boulevard and Kell Lane, between Lake Mead Boulevard and Owens Avenue, for reports of the crash.

A Metro release later said a 2016 Dodge Dart was driving erratically in the northbound Nellis lanes before it crossed the median and continued driving north in the southbound lanes. It drove off the west side of the road and hit a wall head-on. The 54-year-old driver died at the scene, police said.

The Clark County coroner’s office will identify him, as well as determine his cause and manner of death.

The intersection was temporarily closed while the Metropolitan Police Department’s fatal detail investigated.
