Man shot in buttocks at east Las Vegas apartment complex

One person was shot early Thursday at an east Las Vegas apartment complex.

The shooting was reported about 4:45 a.m. at the Hamptons Apartments, 3070 S. Nellis Blvd., near Vegas Valley Drive, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon said.

Neighbors called police after hearing several gunshots and a man screaming for help, Gordon said. Police found a 21-year-old man at the scene with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

The man was hospitalized and his injury is not life-threatening, Gordon said.

Police were still searching for the shooter.
