Tips help Las Vegas police locate, arrest suspect in sexual assault

Las Vegas police arrested a suspect in connection with a sexual assault against an employee at a southeast valley hotel Saturday afternoon.

Police said detectives received information Monday from concerned citizens about a possible suspect who was later identified as Ivon Major, 22. Tuesday morning, a patrol officer working in the Southeast Area Command received information that the suspect might have been in a vehicle that was leaving the area.

The officer stopped the vehicle and the suspect was taken into custody. Major was arrested and will face charges of battery with intent to commit sexual assault, sexual assault, kidnapping, robbery, burglary with intent to commit sexual assault and open and gross lewdness.
