Henderson to host cybersecurity workshop for parents

Henderson is hosting a cybersecurity workshop for parents next month.

The free workshop from the city’s information technology and police departments will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, and will cover parental controls; social media content, contact and conduct; digital footprints; managing online gaming; and setting ground rules.

Each week in October is dedicated to a cybersecurity topic:

  • Oct. 2-6: STOP. THINK. CONNECT: Simple Steps to Online Safety
  • Oct. 9-13: Cybersecurity in the Workplace Is Everyone’s Business
  • Oct. 16-20: Today’s Predictions for Tomorrow’s Internet
  • Oct. 23-27: The Internet Wants You: Consider a Career in Cyber Security
  • Oct. 30-31: Protecting Critical Infrastructure From Cyber Threats
