Channing Tatum ushers in October with an order of TLC

With Channing Tatum shaking the mix, Red Rock Resort will look like Pink Rock Resort through October.

Station Casinos, owner of Red Rock, launched its eighth annual Project Pink campaign Saturday as part of American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer Awareness month. Tatum, of course, is the A-lister who behind the “Magic Mike” film series and “Magic Mike Live” at Hard Rock Hotel.

Tatum and Station Casinos are now joining in a project benefiting Susan G. Komen Nevada and the ACS’ Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraising efforts. The resort company is “pinking out” all of its Vegas properties. Pink pastries, pink blackjack and poker tables, pink bingo packs and pink bowling shoes are among the themed features.

All money derived from the campaign is directed to the partner charities.

The Station-Tatum partnership has been stirred in a cocktail. Among his many entrepreneurial interests, Tatum co-owns Born & Bred vodka, which is served at all Station Casinos hotels.

Station officials seized Tatum’s liquor to create its specialty pink drink, working with staff mixologists and two breast cancer survivors from the Las Vegas: Toni Lee, director of promotions of “Legends in Concert” at Flamingo Las Vegas; and Tammy Rosen of Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas.

Tatum had his existing business relationship with Station when he was invited to participate in the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

“I was drawn to Project Pink because it both helps fight the battle against breast cancer while simultaneously celebrating the women affected,” Tatum says. “Toni and Tammy are strong, tough women and theirs are stories worth telling. These two beat this disease and will hopefully be an inspiration to others as they were to me.”

Tough, indeed. Rosen says, “I”m seven years cancer-free. God gave it to me because I am a badass and I’m going to fight this.” Lee adds, “On 9/11 I’ll be 10 years cancer-free. Never take anything for granted. Always be the fighter.”

White is right

When Jason Egan talks of his inspirations in his Fright Dome empire at Circus Circus, ex-UFC head Dana White is usually mentioned. The two have become close over the years, with White becoming both a friend and fan of Egan. The two arrived together, amid a sonic and flashy hullabaloo, at Fright Dome’s opening Friday night.

Taking a break from photos on the Black Carpet at the attraction’s entrance, White said Egan could well sell Fright Dome to a corporation for a gigantic figure — similar to how the Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta III sold the UFC for $4 billion to an investment group led by talent agency WME-IMG in July 2016.

“Jason is a hard worker, an entrepreneur, and he’s taken this thing from nothing to what it is today,” White said. “He had a great idea to bring it here to the AdventureDome. It’s a home run, and I see him turning it over like the UFC did, 100 percent. He’s already been getting offers.”

Egan has yet to specify the future of Fright Dome, but he is planning a new project, multiple escape rooms, near his Fright Dome fortress, to be announced in October. Egan is also tight with “Ghost Adventures” star Zak Bagans, who is opening The Haunted House on East Charleston near Las Vegas Boulevard this week. The two plan to cross-promote their respective attractions throughout the Halloween season.

Liberace Mansion action

On the topic of mansions …

“Murder at the Mansion,” a benefit for the Liberace Mansion, is set for Oct. 13 at the estate of the Vegas entertainment legend at at 4982 Shirley St., just south of UNLV. The night is a benefit for the Bruce and Barbara Lee Woollen Foundation and The Friends of the Liberace Mansion Foundation. Both organizations help fund Las Vegas youth arts programs.

This is a formal evening of dinner theater, dancing and assorted surprises where guests are asked to wear masks to add to the mystique. Guests will be required to solve a murder that takes place during the program (a staged murder, I should specify). A live auction (hosted by this live scribe), a live band and live dancing are on tap.

Las Vegas philanthropist, businesswoman and onetime showgirl Cindy Doumani is being honored with the event’s Humanitarian Award. Soprano Emily Jane Dubois, who will perform during the program, is being honored with the Emerging Artist Award.
