The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the boys killed in a hit-and-run in September.
Danny Miramontes, 12, and Francisco Miramontes, 14, were two of the three boys killed when a driver lost control of a car and struck them on a sidewalk in the east valley Sept. 30.
Another boy who was killed, 13-year-old Deandre Lyle, was identified by his mother the day after the crash.
Lyle and the Miramontes boys were walking on a sidewalk shortly after 9 p.m. along East Desert Inn Road, near Nellis Boulevard, when a car jumped the curb and hit them. Another boy was injured in the crash.
The driver ran from the scene. Joseph Eskandarian, 28, was arrested in connection with the crash about six hours after the collision. He is being held on $1 million bail in county jail and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning. He was booked on multiple felony counts of failure to stop at the scene of a crash causing death or injury.
Police said the night of the crash that preliminary evidence suggested the driver was trying to pass another vehicle on the road’s right shoulder.
A GoFundMe page set up for the Miramontes boys raised more than $13,500 in the weeks after the crash. The fundraising goal listed on the page was $20,000.
