Las Vegas City Council appoints 2 key managers

The Las Vegas City Council appointed two new directors on Wednesday: Michael Janssen will lead the city’s public works department and Robert Summerfield will helm the planning department.

Janssen will earn a $164,996 annual salary plus benefits, while Summerfield will draw $143,676 plus benefits.

Janssen has worked for the city since 1997, previously as transportation manager, traffic engineering project manager, among other positions.

Summerfield has worked for the city since 2005, as a planner and planning section manager.
