Firefighters keep blaze from spreading

Billowing white smoke filled the sky near Jones Boulevard and U.S. Highway 95 early Monday. Las Vegas Fire Department crews responded to the fire on Fairwood Avenue just before 6 a.m. Crews kept the fire from spreading to the attic, and the blaze was under control within about 10 minutes. Nobody was injured.
