Police investigating homicide in central Las Vegas

Updated May 24, 2018 - 11:34 pm

Las Vegas police are investigating a deadly shooting Thursday night in the central valley.

A man in his 20s was shot at about 8:20 p.m. at the Rancho Verde Apartments on Martin Luther King Boulevard, near Bonanza Road, Metropolitan Police Department homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said.

Police initially received a call about a fight at the complex at 98 S. Martin Luther King Blvd. The call was then upgraded to a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man shot multiple times near the north end of a building in the complex, Spencer said. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.

As of late Thursday, Metro did not have any eyewitnesses to the shooting, and the shooter was still at large, Spencer said.

He said Metro was checking the area for any security footage that could help the investigation.

No further information was immediately available.
