Police investigating fatal shooting in central Las Vegas

Updated June 13, 2018 - 1:03 am

Las Vegas police are searching for a man who is suspected of shooting and killing his father Tuesday night in the central valley.

Metropolitan Police Department homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said the two men were standing in a driveway outside the father’s house on the 3800 block of San Angelo Avenue, near West Sahara Avenue and South Valley View Boulevard, while the rest of the family was inside the home.

The father’s fiance heard a gunshot about 9:15 p.m. and went outside to investigate, Spencer said. She found the man, who was in his late 50s, suffering a gunshot wound. The son no longer was at the scene.

The injured man was hospitalized, but later died. Spencer said the son, a man in his 30s, is the only outstanding suspect.
