Coroner IDs motorcyclist killed in crash near downtown Las Vegas

Updated February 6, 2019 - 4:16 pm

The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash Tuesday night near downtown Las Vegas.

Donald Joseph Jackson II, 25, died from blunt force injuries, and his death was ruled an accident, the coroner’s office said Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called about 8:30 p.m. at the corner of East Washington Avenue and North 21st Street, west of Eastern Avenue, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon said Tuesday night.

Jackson was driving a 2004 Suzuki west on Washington and collided with a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic that was turning onto Washington from 21st Street.

Witnesses told police that the motorcyclist was speeding.

Jackson died after being taken to a hospital, Gordon said.

Police said impairment was not believed to be a factor for either driver.

The crash remains under investigation.
