Updated March 25, 2019 - 10:21 pm

The warmest day of the year so far in the Las Vegas Valley is expected Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.

Forecasts call for a high of 81 on Tuesday, the first time of a high at 80 or above in 2019, meteorologist Chris Outler said.

The normal first occurrence is March 15, Outler said.

Winds will pick up significantly on Wednesday with gusts near 30 mph, according to the weather service. The high should be 80.

Temperatures will cool as the weekend approaches, with highs forecast at 74 and 73 for Thursday and Friday, respectively.

Lows will be in the mid-50s through the week.
