A motorcyclist killed in a fatal crash Tuesday night in the northwest Las Vegas Valley has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
Stephen Andrews, 50, of Las Vegas, died at the scene of the crash in the 7000 block of Certitude Avenue, near West Grand Teton and North Buffalo drives. His death was an accident due to blunt force injuries, the coroner’s office said Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the scene at about 7 p.m. after a car collided with a motorcycle, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon said. Andrews, who was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson FXSTB, was westbound on Certitude, approaching License Street, when a 2015 Honda CRV turned onto License Street.
The car crossed into Andrews’ path, causing the motorcycle to collide with the right side of the Honda, police said.
The Honda’s driver, a 56-year-old man, stayed at the scene and did not show signs of impairment, police said.
The crash marks the 51st traffic-related fatality Metro has investigated this year.
