Roundup: Elyse Young’s triple-double sparks Spartans

Elyse Young had her second consecutive triple-double, racking up 26 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals and eight assists, on Friday to help host Cimarron-Memorial’s girls basketball team to a 70-40 win over Arbor View.

Mary Jane Williams-Law added 19 points, and Yesenia Wesley-Nash had 11 points and seven assists for the Spartans.

Amiya Lattomus led the Aggies with 16 points.

Shadow Ridge 62, Bonanza 48 — At Bonanza, Caitlyn Covington poured in 22 points to lead the Mustangs by the Bengals.

Vashay Young added 19 points, and Jamia Carter scored 11 for Shadow Ridge, which made 21 of 32 free throws.

Sade Booker led Bonanza with 17 points, and Aaliyah Booker added 16 points for the Bengals, who made 16 of 33 free throws.

Moapa Valley 57, Virgin Valley 41 — At Overton, Lainey Cornwall scored 18 points to lead the Pirates past the Bulldogs.

Kaitlyn Anderson scored 13 points, and Emma Humes added 10 points for Moapa Valley, which led 28-12 at the half.

Areli Ponce scored 16 points to lead Virgin Valley, and teammate Alexis Boatright added 11 points.

Foothill 53, Basic 20 — At Foothill, Aqui Williams scored 21 points to lead the Falcons in a rout of the Wolves.

Jailyn Johnson scored 10 points for Foothill, which led 28-12 at halftime and used a 21-1 third-quarter run to put the game away.

Lauren Powell scored nine points to lead Basic.

Liberty 68, Tech 26 — At Liberty, Olivia Childress had 11 points and 14 rebounds as the Patriots rolled past the Roadrunners.

Liberty’s Journie Augmon added 10 points and had 11 rebounds.

Sadiya Mayo led Tech with 10 points.

Centennial 70, Palo Verde 13 — At Centennial, Daejah Phillips had 14 points, eight rebounds, eight steals and four assists to help the Bulldogs rout the Panthers.

Taylor Bigby had 15 points, and Jade Thomas scored 11 for Centennial.

Legacy 48, Eldorado 7 — At Legacy, Aaliya Neal scored 10 points as the Longhorns routed the Sundevils.

Samiah Mitchell scored nine points, and Sam Greene added eight points for Legacy, which led 25-2 at halftime.

Boulder City 31, Pahrump Valley 29 — At Pahrump, Hannah Estes led all scorers with 16 points as the Eagles defeated the Trojans.

Kathryn Daffer led Pahrump with 12 points.

SLAM Academy 33, Sky Pointe 32 — At Sky Pointe, Zameeah Terry scored 10 points to lead the Bulls past Eagles.

Jaiden Renne added eight points for the Bulls, who used a 16-5 third-quarter run to take control of the game.

Jayden Sanders scored 17 points to lead the Eagles.

Lincoln County 49, Mountain View 15 — At Mountain View, Sadie Soderborg had 19 points as the Lynx rolled past the Saints.

Ellie Frehner added seven points for Lincoln County, which led 19-3 after one quarter.

Indian Springs 14, Beaver Dam 12 — At Indian Springs, Martina DuBray scored seven points to help the Thunderbirds rally by the Diamondbacks.

Indian Springs trailed 9-4 at the half and 9-6 after three quarters before outscoring Beaver Dam, 8-3 in the fourth quarter.

Lexii Frickberg led Beaver Dam with seven points.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
