2018-19 Spring Valley Flag Football Capsule

SPRING VALLEY

Head coach: Marcus Teal, seventh season

2017-18 record: 0-14 (0-10 Southwest/sixth)

Returning letter winners (starters): Five (five)

Top players: RB/S Siam Vicuna (Jr.), QB Rayhani Peters (Sr.), RB/LB Shemari Collins (Sr.), LB Diana Borboa-Perez (Sr.), WR Teegan Teal (Sr.)

Outlook: The Grizzlies return only five starters from a team that struggled to find success last year.

“For the second consecutive season, the Lady Grizz graduated a big class and will be relying on new, inexperienced players to help the Lady Grizz find a way to win,” Marcus Teal said. Last season, the Lady Grizz did not win a game as they had 16 new varsity players learning to play the game on the fly.”

Teegan Teal is the lone holdover from the program’s 2016 playoff appearance.

“Siam Vicuna, Shemari Collins, Rayahni Peters, and Diana Borboa-Perez also return as second-year varsity players to help the Lady Grizz try to get back on track to developing a quality program,” Marcus Teal said.
