Roundup: Durango hands Coronado first league loss

Sophia Dominguez had 21 kills and 16 digs Tuesday as Durango’s volleyball team handed Coronado its first Desert League loss, 25-16, 20-25, 25-23, 20-25, 17-15.

Jaylin Ellis added 14 kills and 21 digs for the Trailblazers,who got 25 assists and 13 digs from Tehani Faitau.

Sasha Bolla had 19 kills to lead the Cougars. McCallister Gayle added 16 kills and two blocks, and Cassandra Smits-Van Oyen added 52 assists and 12 digs for Coronado.

Desert Oasis 3, Tech 0 — At Desert Oasis, Nathalie Van had 23 assists and seven digs, and Paige Parlanti tallied 12 kills, two aces and two blocks to help the Diamondbacks sweep the Roadrunners, 25-17, 25-23, 25-14.

Sophia Parlanti notched eight kills and two blocks, and Tayia Kahananui added three kills and two blocks for Desert Oasis.

Kaitlyn Harvey had nine assists, seven digs and two kills, and Seidi Trevizo added eight digs for Tech, which also got three kills, two aces and two digs from Makenna Faught.

Foothill 3, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Laynee Truscott notched 29 assists, three kills and three aces, and Kate Prior had six kills, six blocks and three digs as the Falcons battled past the Mountain Lions, 27-25, 25-20, 26-24.

Ava Hurry had seven kills and seven digs, and Brooke Bykowski chipped in with nine kills and three digs for Foothill.

Matlyn Ua had 12 assists and 12 digs, and Leilani Vitale added 10 kills for Sierra Vista.

Bishop Gorman 3, Green Valley 0 — At Gorman, Tommi Stockham had 15 kills, eight digs and two blocks to lead the Gaels over the Gators, 25-18, 25-16, 25-15.

Angelina Starck had 15 assists, five digs and two blocks for Gorman.

Green Valley’s Julia Whiting-Reed had five kills, five digs and two blocks.

Basic 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Basic, Allison Baker had 21 assists, four kills and three aces, and Angelina Dean recorded 13 kills and nine digs as the Wolves fought off the Grizzlies, 25-20, 25-19, 25-11.

Chloe Ludemann put down 12 kills for Basic.

Vaden Mangler had three kills, three aces and two blocks, and teammate Brooke Robinson supplied three kills and three blocks for Spring Valley.

Boulder City 3, Chaparral 0 — At Boulder City, Ava Wright had 18 assists and four aces, and Setia Cox notched five aces, four kills and four digs as the Eagles defeated the Cowboys, 25-8, 25-7, 25-14.

Kelsi Robinson and Rachel Krumm each had five kills, and Zoey Robinson served five aces for Boulder City. Sierra Orton added four blocks for the Eagles.

Silverado 3, Clark 0 — At Clark, Jasmine Waugh had 20 assists and eight digs to power the Skyhawks over the Chargers, 25-10, 25-9, 25-11.

Brielen Aquino had 10 digs and five aces for Silverado, and Grace Cunningham had five kills and a block.

Clark’s Coraly Dupree had seven kills and two blocks, and teammate April Perez had seven assists.

Moapa Valley 3, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, Kyla Bradshaw had six aces and five kills, and Shyanne Matheson added nine aces and four kills as the Pirates swept the Miners, 25-5, 25-14, 25-12.

Abbie Evans supplied nine kills and two aces for Moapa Valley.

Julia Miles had three kills, and Addie Tinsley got two kills for Sunrise Mountain.

Liberty Baptist 3, Founders Academy 0 — At Founders Academy, Jade Halverson had 13 kills, seven aces, 18 digs and two blocks to lead the Knights to a 25-11, 25-13, 25-19 victory.

Kelsey Guardiola had nine kills, 22 digs and four aces Liberty Baptist, and teammate Savannah Workizer had eight kills, eight digs and five aces.

Sky Pointe 3, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, the Eagles beat the Bulldogs, 25-11, 25-11, 25-16.
