Roundup: Foothill knocks off Basic in region play

Colton Cook scored twice and had an assist for Foothill’s boys soccer team in a 3-0 victory over visiting Basic in the Desert Region tournament on Tuesday afternoon.

Devan Henriott added a goal for the Falcons (5-11-2), who will play at Green Valley (8-13-3) on Thursday.

William Potter and Dalin Call each played a half at keeper to combine for a clean sheet.

Basic finished 0-17-0.

Mountain Region Tournament

Arbor View 7, Cheyenne 1 — At Arbor View, Ethan Boone had three goals as the Aggies beat the Desert Shields.

Ricardo Mogollon added two goals for Arbor View (8-12-1), which plays at Faith Lutheran (10-8-3) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Nicholas Walker and Arthur Medina each added a goal for the Aggies.

Cheyenne finished 1-17.

Legacy 2, Shadow Ridge 0 — At Legacy, Jesus Cruz and Aalan Risales scored to help Longhorns held on to beat the Mustangs.

Alejandro Alveraz had eight saves for Legacy (6-13), which advances to play at Canyon Springs (8-6-2) at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Shadow Ridge finished 2-14-2.

Class 3A Regular Season

Western 5, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, the Warriors built a 2-0 halftime lead and coasted to a win over the Dragons.

Jose Muniz, Juan Estrada, Joey Trejo-Morales, Brayan Gonzalez and Andy Rodriguez each scored a goal for Western.

Francisco Corona recorded the shutout.

Mojave 8, The Meadows 0 — At Mojave, Jesus Ubario and Johnathan Gonzalez each scored twice as the Rattlers routed the Mustangs.

Oscar Gonzalez, Bryan Torres, Anibal Ponce and Felix Perez each added a goal for Mojave.

Gabriel Sida was in goal for the shutout.

Valley 8, Adelson School 0 — At Adelson School, Samuel Milenge had four goals and an assist as the Vikings beat the Lions.

Shadrack Milenge added two goals, and Emmanuel Cruz had a goal and three assists for Valley. Edgar Rivas added a goal for the Vikings.

David Ramirez got the shutout.
