Roundup: Foothill takes top three spots en route to victory

Foothill had the top three finishers and four of the top six on Thursday to win a five-team girls cross country meet at Cornerstone Park.

The Falcons finished with 23 points. Tech was second with 46, followed by Clark (57), Liberty (119) and Green Valley (135).

Foothill’s Erica Schulz won the 2-mile race in 13 minutes, 35.1 seconds, and teammates Myna Buckley (13:39.8) and Kylee Reyes (13:40.5) took the next two spots.

Clark’s Katherine Skouson was fourth in 13:42.6.

Centennial wins four-team meet

At Floyd Lamb Park, Centennial had four of the top eight finishers and won a four-team meet.

The Bulldogs finished with 30 points. Desert Pines was second with 40, followed by Arbor View (53) and Eldorado (101).

Desert Pines’ Jazmin Felix won the 3-mile race in 18:35.3, and teammate Nayeli Perea-Barco was second in 20:51.

Centennial’s Anyssa Frutos took third in 22:22.4, and teammate Madelynn Trujillo was fourth in 23:04.5.
