Girls roundup: Sierra Vista defeats Desert Oasis

Emma Zeigler, Sarriah Brown and Audrey Dayton each won an individual event and ran on two winning relay teams to lead Sierra Vista’s girls track team to an 83-54 home victory over Desert Oasis.

Zeigler won the 200-meter dash in 26.72 seconds. She also ran on the winning 400 and 1,600 relay teams and finished fourth in the 800.

Brown won the 800 in 2:23.81 and ran on the 400 and 1,600 relay teams, and Dayton took the 300 hurdles (47.09) and ran on the 400 and 1,600 relay teams for the Mountain Lions.

Cherish Ross won the long jump with a mark of 15 feet, 6½ inches and finished second in the 100 and 200 for Sierra Vista.

Gorman wins three-team meet

At Bishop Gorman, Devyn Rosenberg won two individual events and ran on the winning 400 relay team to help the Gaels defeat Clark and Calvary Chapel.

Rosenberg won the 100 in 12.81 and the 200 in 27.2. Teammate Angel Maduka took both the 100 hurdles (19.23) and the high jump (4-8).

Clark’s Dejana Chapman won the 300 hurdles (48.63) and the long jump (17-0) and was second in the 200.

Gorman finished with 118 points. Clark was second with 31, followed by Calvary Chapel with 7.

Canyon Springs downs Rancho

At Canyon Springs, Iyani Hayden won the 100 hurdles in 15.1 and the long jump with a leap of 11-9 to power the Pioneers over the Rams.

Canyon Springs finished with 52 team points, and Rancho with 33.

Shaolin Vann won the 200 dash in 26.5 for the Rams, and Aniya Smith won the 400 dash in 59.45.

Arbor View tops Palo Verde

At Arbor View, Alexis Sterling and Dayanara Trujillo each won two events to help the Aggies to a 98¼-67¾ win over Palo Verde.

Sterling won the long jump (14-1) and triple jump (30-6½). Trujillo took the discus (88-6) and shot put (28-6).

Palo Verde’s Nordia Campbell won the 400 in 62.6 and was second in the 100.

Faith Lutheran defeats Shadow Ridge

At Shadow Ridge, Xori Green won the 100 in 12.5 and the 200 in 25.9 to lead Faith Lutheran to a 78-67 win over the Mustangs.

Shadow Ridge’s Trinity McDowell won the 300 hurdles in 48.0 and ran on the winning 800 relay team.
