Roundup: Keaton Ogden helps Virgin Valley boys swim past Sunrise Mountain

Keaton Ogden won the 100-meter freestyle in 57.90 seconds and the 200 freestyle in 2:11.85 on Thursday to help Virgin Valley’s boys swimming team to a 90-38 win over Sunrise Mountain in Mesquite.

Hiram Rivera won the 50 freestyle in 26.28 and was second in the 200 freestyle for the Bulldogs.

Sunrise Mountain’s Frank Villalpando won the 100 breaststroke (1:21.01) and was third in the 200 freestyle.

Moapa Valley 113, White Pine 21 — At Mesquite, Tyler Holmes and Zane Lamping each won one individual event and swam on three winning relay teams to lead the Pirates by the Bobcats.

Holmes won the 200 freestyle in 2:09.81. Lamping won the 100 butterfly in 1:07.33. The two swam with Chase LaCroix and Nathaniel Thompson the winning 200 medley, 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay teams.

White Pine’s Max Barnett won the 100 freestyle (52.83) and the 100 breaststroke (1:05.24).

Girls

Virgin Valley 143, Sunrise Mountain 73 — At Mesquite, Taylor Waite won the 50 freestyle in 28.28 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.56 to lead the Bulldogs by the Miners.

Kiley Hill won the 100 freestyle (1:07.43) and was second in the 100 breaststroke for Virgin Valley.

Moapa Valley 112, White Pine 21 — At Mesquite, Alexis Sawyer won the 100 freestyle in 1:10.38 and helped the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams to victory as the Pirates topped the Bobcats.
