Roundup: Quartet helps Legacy girls defeat Palo Verde

C’Aree Stevenson, Alanna Gilbert, Makaylah Celestin and Amayah Dondle each won two individual events Thursday to lead Legacy’s girls track team to a 76-64 win at Palo Verde.
Stevenson covered 15 feet, 6½ inches to win the long jump and was first in the 200-meter dash in 25.97 seconds. She also ran on a leg on the Longhorns’ winning 800 relay (1:52.00) and 1,600 relay (4:27.32) teams.
Gilbert won the 800 in 2:36.88 and the 1,600 in 5:44.81.
Celestin swept the hurdle events, winning the 100 in 18.55 and the 300 in 55.02.
Dondle won both throws, with efforts of 27-3 in the shot put and 92-5 in the discus.
Palo Verde’s Teyah Holliday won the 100 in 13.05 and was second in the 200.
Green Valley downs Foothill
At Foothill, Deborah Grant and Sierrah Rivera each won one individual event and ran a leg on the winning 800 relay team to lead Green Valley to an 83-63 win over the Falcons.
Grant won the 200 in 26.65, and Rivera claimed the 800 in 2:32.43. Both were members of the 800 relay team that won in 1:48.87.
Foothill’s Frankie Morrill won the long jump (16-2), triple jump (34-7½), 100 hurdles (16.79) and 300 hurdles (49.55).
Crusaders win tri-meet
At Cimarron-Memorial, Sanniyah Haye swept the throws as Faith Lutheran won a three-team meet.
The Crusaders finished with 119½ points to beat Cimarron (39½) and Democracy Prep (6).
Sydney Fredrickson won the 110 hurdles (17.0) and was second in the 300 hurdles, and teammate Alexi Johnson won the 400 (59.5) and was second in the 100 for Faith Lutheran.
