Roundup: Foothill wins pitchers’ duel with Coronado

Foothill’s Kelton Lachelt fired a complete game, allowing one run and five hits and striking out six, to lift the Falcons’ baseball team over visiting Coronado on Friday, 2-1.

Chayse Parenteau had both of Foothill’s RBIs, and Andrew Hauck and Jake Perales scored.

Boston Mabeus went the distance for Coronado, allowing three hits and striking out 10.

Pahrump Valley 7, Durango 6 — At Pahrump, Cole Walker went 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs as the Trojans defeated the Trailblazers in nine innings.

Trojans’ Chase McDaniel went 2-for-5 with an RBI, Dylan Grossell went 2-for-3, and Ian MacRae and Bradda Costa each hit a double. Garret Lucas tossed 7⅔ innings and struck out seven batters for the Trojans, and Ian MacRae relieved Lucas in the eighth inning to earn the victory.

Durango’s Justin Lucas went 3-for-4 with two doubles, Irvin Weems went 2-for-6 with a triple, and Blake Logan went 2-for-4.

Shadow Ridge 9, Canyon View (Utah) 8 — At St. George, Utah, Jax Holzem’s squeeze bunt plated Tyler Black in extra innings to give the Mustangs the eight-inning victory over the Falcons in the U.S. Bank Spring Dust Off.

Canyon View scored three runs in the seventh to force extra innings.

Brennan Lyman had three RBIs for the Mustangs, and Jacob Schilder scored three times.

Salem Hills (Utah) 4, Shadow Ridge 3 — At St. George, Utah, Ashton Caniglia had a double, RBI and run scored, bu the Mustangs fell to the Skyhawks in the U.S. Bank Spring Dust Off.

Corbin Wright started on the mound for Shadow Ridge and threw five innings and allowed two runs, none earned.

Brandon Tressler was 2-for-2 with a walk for the Mustangs.

Las Vegas 5, Snow Canyon (Utah) 2 — At St. George, Utah, Nathan Freimuth hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Wildcats over the Warriors in the U.S. Bank U.S. Bank Dust Off.

Daniel Jimenez added two hits, including a double, for Las Vegas. Brandon Smith allowed two runs on four hits in six innings to get the win, and Freimuth pitched the seventh to get a save.

Las Vegas 10, Springville (Utah) 8 — At St. George, Utah, Leonel Anaya was 3-for-3 with a double, and Kevin Verduzco went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs as the Wildcats beat the Red Devils in the U.S. Bank Dust Off.

Freimuth and Payton Miller each added two hits for Las Vegas.

Silverado 10, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Dax Fellows homered, doubled, scored three runs and had two RBIs as the Skyhawks rolled past the Sundevils in six innings.

Aidan Trammel had three RBIs and two runs for the Skyhawks, and Caleb Hubbard was 3-for-3 with a double.

Nikolas Cortez, Patrick Ballinger and Tanner McDougal combined on the no-hitter for Silverado.

Basic 10, Valley 0 — At Basic, Garret Giles went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and three RBIs as the Wolves slugged their way past the Vikings.

Basic’s Kai Symonds, Dominik Tavares and Trace Evans each pitched two innings and allowed a combined two hits and zero earned runs. John Howard Bobo also went 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs for the Wolves, and Jesse Fonteboa, Zach Hose, and Christian Rivero each hit a double.

Valley’s Gatlin Hardiman and Larry Valenzuela each went 1-for-3.

Del Sol 12, Mojave 2 — At Mojave, Chandler Miller hit a 3-run homer to lead the Dragons in a five-inning rout of the Rattlers.

Jose Galicia and Javier Marti both doubled for the Dragons, who scored eight times in the top of the fourth inning.

Gelkis Digurnay allowed two runs and struck out two to pick up the win in relief of Miller, who struck out four and didn’t allow a hit over the first 2⅓ innings.

Green Valley 15, Canyon Springs 0 — At Green Valley, Gavin Amelburu was 2-for-2 with four RBIs as the Gators rolled over the Pioneers in four innings.

Gavin Malcolm had a triple and two RBIs for Green Valley, and Scott Gruber also tripled.

Jake Empey had a double, two RBIs and two runs for the Gators.

Virgin Valley 15, Pahranagat Valley 4 — At Mesquite, Easton Jensen was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs as the Bulldogs rolled the Panthers in five innings.

Jayden Perkins had three runs and two RBIs for the Bulldogs, and Kaden Peterson and Cade Anderson each had two RBIs.

Lincoln County 16-20, Mountain View 0-0 — At Panaca, Mason Thornock was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs as the Lynx blew out the Saints in three innings in the first game of a doubleheader.

Tristan Davis had two doubles for the Lynx, and Dean Ottley tripled and scored twice.

Chris Murray hit a double for the Saints.

Davis threw a three-inning no hitter in the nightcap to power the Lynx over the Saints.

Kobe Walker and Kamdon Lewis each had two doubles for Lincoln County.

Liberty Baptist 16, Sandy Valley 4 — At Sandy Valley, Trevor Campbell and Joseph Foronda each doubled and had three RBIs as the Knights took down the Sidewinders.
