Roundup: Valerie Perez keys Del Sol defense in win over Tech

Valerie Perez recorded four sacks to help Del Sol’s flag football team to a 19-7 home win over Tech on Friday.

Angel Hodges returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown for Del Sol, and teammate Tarika Poullard rushed for 50 yards on seven carries, including a 20-yard TD run.

Hodges rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries, and Stephanie Tewart completed 9 of 14 passes for 127 yards for the Dragons.

Taylor Ritayik threw an 18-yard TD pass to Gabrielle DeGuzman for Tech.

Maria Galindo had an interception, and Redhisa Sua had two sacks for the Roadrunners.

Chaparral 18, Moapa Valley 12 — At Chaparral, I’asia Mack and Vanessa Sanchez each caught a touchdown pass to help the Cowboys beat the Pirates.

Mack had a 40-yard TD catch, and Sanchez caught a 30-yard scoring strike.

Alyssa Porras added a 10-yard TD run for Chaparral.

Las Vegas 55, Sierra Vista 25 — At Las Vegas High, Kaitlyn Horstdaniel threw for 257 yards and five touchdowns as the Wildcats rolled past the Mountain Lions.

Natalie Gennuso had five receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns, and Angelina Visitacion caught two passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats.

Brinkley McCoy ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries for Las Vegas.

Durango 34, Spring Valley 13 — At Spring Valley, Marina Bacon threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score to lead the Trailblazers past the Grizzlies.

Gabriela Corchado caught five passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns, and Jaden Brown ran for 108 yards and a touchdown on eight carries for Durango.

Jaylen Burson had six tackles, Andrea Godinez had three sacks, and Arlynne Contreras had an interception for the Durango defense.

Shemari Collins and Benedetta Poli each ran for a touchdown for Spring Valley.
