Olivia Lampkin gets Basic rolling in Sunrise Region bowling tournament

Olivia Lampkin rolled a 258 in her first game Monday to help Basic’s girls bowling team to a 9-0 win over Rancho in the opening round of the Sunrise Region team tournament at The Orleans Bowling Center.
Basic advances to meet Eldorado, a 9-0 winner over Foothill, in the semifinals at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Orleans.
Coronado defeated Las Vegas 9-0, and Silverado downed Valley 7-2 in the other quarterfinals.
In the Sunset Region, Spring Valley rolled both the high team game and high team series of the day in Class 4A en route to a 9-0 victory over Palo Verde.
The Grizzlies had a 661 middle game and a 1,902 team series. They’ll face Desert Oasis, a 7-2 winner over Arbor View, in Wednesday’s region semifinals.
Clark was a narrow 5-4 winner over Shadow Ridge, and Sierra Vista defeated Centennial 7-2 in the other quarterfinals.
In Class 3A, Tech rolled a 689 opening game and a 2,003 series to easily dispatch Mojave 9-0 in a quarterfinal.
Tech will meet Western, which swept Del Sol on Monday, in Wednesday’s state semifinals. The Meadows, a 9-0 winner over Chaparral, and Boulder City, a 9-0 winner over Cheyenne, will face off in the other semifinal.
