Eldorado boys bowling team advances to Sunrise Region final

Northeast League champion Eldorado rolled a 2,297 team series Wednesday to claim a 7-2 win over Liberty in the Sunrise Region boys bowling tournament semifinals at The Orleans Bowling Center.
The Sundevils will meet Southeast champion Foothill for the region title at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at The Orleans.
Foothill was a 9-0 winner over Coronado in the other region semifinal.
In the boys Sunset Region semifinals, Andrew Guba rolled games of 220, 257 and 258 for a 735 series to help Spring Valley to a 9-0 sweep of Desert Oasis.
The Grizzlies will face Clark, a 7-2 winner over Bonanza, in Thursday’s region final.
Spring Valley’s girls also advanced to the Sunset Region final, downing Desert Oasis, 7-2.
The Grizzles will battle Sierra Vista in the title match Thursday. Sierra Vista swept Clark, 9-0.
Coronado and Basic will clash for the girls Sunrise title.
Coronado was a 9-0 winner over Silverado, and Basic swept Eldorado on Wednesday.
Class 3A
Del Sol’s boys rolled a 2,106 series and held off Tech 7-2 to earn a spot in the Class 3A state finals.
The Dragons, who have never won a state bowling title, topped the Roadrunners by 70 total pins and will face Chaparral in Friday’s title match.
Chaparral was a 7-2 winner over Cheyenne in the other semifinal.
In the girls state semifinals, The Meadows edged Boulder City 7-2, winning the team series, 1,559-1,507.
Seeking their first state bowling title, the Mustangs will meet Tech in the final on Friday.
Tech blanked Western 9-0 in the other semifinal.
