Roundup: Madisyn McArthur helps Foothill advance in flag football playoffs

Madisyn McArthur completed 21 of 27 passes for 315 yards and four touchdowns Tuesday to help Foothill top Rancho, 33-9 in the quarterfinals of the Sunrise Region flag football playoffs at Las Vegas High.

Whitley Brow caught 12 passes for 164 yards and two TDs for the Falcons. Julia Lynch and Sydney Babakitis also caught a touchdown pass for Foothill (12-5), which will visit Coronado (19-0) in the region semifinals Thursday.

Chloe Collins added a rushing TD for the Falcons.

Rancho finished 8-8 overall.

Coronado 41, Eldorado 19 — At Coronado, Caitlin Shannon threw for 227 yards and five touchdowns as the Cougars raced past the Sundevils (4-9).

Shannon completed 20 of 30 passes. She threw two TD passes apiece to Sydnee Hansen and Jensen Boman and one TD pass to Reagan Raimer.

Taylor Burton rushed for 101 yards on 13 carries for Coronado, and teammate Marissa Pollak rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

Green Valley 35, Valley 6 — At Las Vegas High, Brooke Hijar caught three touchdown passes from Jennifer Haberstock as the Gators routed the Vikings.

Haberstock was 8 of 16 passing for 204 yards. She also threw a TD pass to Christina Mayberry. Hijar caught four passes for 109 yard for the Gators (19-3), who will visit Las Vegas (16-7) in the semifinals on Thursday.

Janelle Houts caught a TD pass from Sidney Rood for Green Valley.

Sol Gonzalez-Pacheco had a TD run for Valley (3-14).

Las Vegas 35, Silverado 32 — At Las Vegas High, Brinkley McCoy rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns as the Wildcats took down the Skyhawks.

Kaitlyn Horstdaniel threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats, with 85 yards and one score going to Natalie Gennuso.

Silverado finished 7-9.

SUNSET REGION

Jordan Ford ran for 249 yards and four touchdowns on 35 carries as Shadow Ridge edged Desert Oasis, 27-24 in the quarterfinals of the Sunset Region playoffs at Bonanza.

Alex McGriff supplied two interceptions for Shadow Ridge (15-5), which will visit Bonanza (14-5) in the region semifinals Thursday.

Desert Oasis’ Makayla Rickard completed 14 of 27 passes for 293 yards and four touchdowns. Canei Cunningham caught three passes for 143 yards and two scores, and teammate Izriah Hobson had two TD catches for the Diamondbacks (6-10).

Sierra Vista 54, Cimarron-Memorial 38 — At Palo Verde, Jamie Kalaau-Sunia picked off four passes as the Mountain Lions knocked out the defending state champion Spartans.

Kalaau-Sunia also caught 11 passes, including three for touchdowns for Sierra Vista (9-8), which will visit Palo Verde (15-2) in a region semifinal Thursday.

Mia Buranamontri returned an interception for a touchdown, and caught 11 passes, including one for a TD, for the Mountain Lions.

Cimarron finished 14-5.

Bonanza 33, Arbor View 0 — At Bonanza, Cindylou Rasiang threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score to lead the Bengals in a rout of the Aggies (12-9).

Rasiang completed 15 of 30 passes. She threw a pair of touchdown passes to Ashley Vasquez and and one to Alicia Kestner. Carlene Taylor tossed a TD pass to Breanna Casas for Bonanza.

Charlene Beck added 125 yards on 21 carries for the Bengals.

Palo Verde 29, Clark 13 — At Palo Verde, Betsy Bellinger caught 10 passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns to help the Panthers top the Chargers.

Alyssa Tygh completed 14 of 29 passes for 216 yards and the three TDs for Palo Verde.

Rachel Feliciano rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on nine carries for the Panthers.

Jay Gomes tossed a touchdown pass to Samantha Malley, and Autumn Flowers added a TD run for Clark (8-9).
