Las Vegas Holiday Classic: Centennial rolls in first day of own tournament

Every player who dressed for Centennial’s girls basketball Wednesday scored as the Bulldogs rolled to a 79-20 victory over visiting Beckman (California) in pool play on the first day of the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.

Centennial led 46-11 at halftime, and held Beckman to one point in the second quarter. Centennial, one of four local teams in the tournament, was the only one to come away with a win Wednesday.

Daejah Phillips led the Bulldogs with 14 points, and Justice Ethridge had nine points.

Katrina Metcalf led the Patriots with nine points.

Centennial 76, Desert Pines 7 — Eboni Walker and Jade Thomas chipped in 12 points apiece as the Bulldogs bulldozed the Jaguars.

Melanie Isbell scored 10 for the Bulldogs, who did not allow a point in the second or third quarter.

Centennial held the Jaguars to two field goals in the game.

Reno 52, Legacy 36 — The Longhorns led 17-13 after the first quarter, but eventually fell to the Huskies.

Taeha Pankey scored nine for the Longhorns, who were out-scored 39-19 after the first quarter.

Jill Rovetti scored 14 for the Huskies, and Mikayla Shults added 11 points.

Seton Catholic (Ariz.) 55, Palo Verde 30 — Sara Pfeiffer led all scorers with 14 points to help the Sentinels take down the Panthers.

McKenna Klecker had 12 points for Seton Catholic, and Amanda Barcello scored 10.

Alyssa Maillaro led the Panthers with 11 points.

Clovis West (Calif.) 72, Legacy 27 — Madison Campbell led all scorers with 19 points as the Golden Eagles rolled over the Longhorns.

Nikki Tom scored 17 for the Golden Eagles, and Aari’yanna Sanders had 10 points.

Taeha Pankey’s nine points paced the Longhorns.

Etiwanda (Calif.) 69, Palo Verde 24 — The Eagles received contributions from everyone in the lineup as they beat the Panthers.

Ebony Cooper led the Eagles with 13 points, and Evanne Turner scored 10.

Maya Bega led the Panthers with nine points.

Millennium (Ariz.) 68, Desert Pines 12 — The Tigers held the Jaguars scoreless in the first half and won in a blowout.

Shyann Heredia scored 12 points to lead the Tigers.

Elasjanae Burns led the Jaguars with five points.
