Roundup: Faith Lutheran staves off Bonanza

Kennedy Barr and Jade Mayweather each went 3-0 in singles to lift Faith Lutheran’s girls tennis team to a 13-5 victory over Bonanza in the Sunset Region quarterfinals on Tuesday afternoon.

The doubles teams of Elyse Dulaine and Chloe Pollack, and Kelsie Seigle and Courtney Martin each went 2-0 for the Crusaders (14-3). Faith Lutheran will play at Palo Verde at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Carla LaRosa and Kelsey Spence went 2-1 in doubles for Bonanza (8-6).

Clark 12, Centennial 6 — At Clark, Alysandra Smith, Esther Yi, and Audrey Boch-Collins each went 3-0 in singles as the Chargers (13-2) defeated the Bulldogs.

Sara Altfas and Josie Wondra went 3-0 in doubles for Centennial (8-6).

Clark plays at Bishop Gorman in a semifinal at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bishop Gorman 16, Spring Valley 2 — At Gorman, Madison Winston went 3-0 in singles to help the Gaels take down the Grizzlies.

Olivia Balelo and Giovanna Chaparro went 3-0 in doubles for Gorman (13-1).

Nicole Attallah was 2-0 in singles for Spring Valley (6-8).

Palo Verde 16, Arbor View 2 — At Palo Verde, the Panthers (14-0) took care of the Aggies (6-8).

Class 3A Southern Region

Boulder City 18, Adelson School 0 — At Boulder City, Tegan Pappas, Olivia Mikkelson, and Olivia Goodfellow all went 3-0 in singles as the Eagles (15-1) shut out the Lions (6-7) in the Class 3A Southern Region quarterfinals.

Boulder Cityh hosts Desert Pines (14-4) in a semifinal at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Meadows 18, Virgin Valley 0 — At the Meadows, the Mustangs demolished Virgin Valley (5-9).

The Meadows (13-1) hosts Moapa Valley (10-4) in a semifinal at 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
