Roundup: Faith Lutheran upends defending champion Palo Verde

Faith Lutheran’s girls tennis team upset defending Class 4A state champion Palo Verde 10-9 on a tiebreaker on Wednesday afternoon to advance to the Class 4A Sunset Regional championship.
Faith Lutheran (15-3) and Palo Verde (14-1) split their tiebreakers 3-3, and the Crusaders won by a 35-34 point differential.
Jade Mayweather and Kennedy Barr were 3-0 for the Crusaders, who will play Bishop Gorman in the Sunset final at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Darling Tennis Center.
Bishop Gorman 14, Clark 4 — At Bishop Gorman, Olivia Maalouf and Karissa Matthews went 3-0 in doubles as the Gaels defeated the Chargers.
Emma Kanne was 2-0 in singles for Gorman (14-1).
Audrey Boch-Collins was 3-0 in singles to lead Clark (13-3).
Class 4A Sunrise Region
Coronado 16, Liberty 2 — At Coronado, Hannah Grossman was 2-0 in singles play to help the Cougars roll past the Patriots and advance to the Sunrise Region finals.
Sidra Wohlwend and Ava Nhaisi went 2-0 in doubles for Coronado (12-0), which will play Green Valley in the Sunrise Regional final at 5 p.m. on Thursday at Darling Tennis Center.
Liberty finished 9-4.
Green Valley 10, Foothill 9 — At Foothill, Daria Shalina was 3-0 in singles and the Gators (10-2) won the tiebreaker 4-2 to get by the Falcons.
Emily Campbell and Kristel Peralta finished 3-0 in doubles to pace Foothill (11-4).
Class 3A Southern Region
Boulder City 14, Desert Pines 4 — At Boulder City, Olivia Mikkelson and Tegan Pappas each went 3-0 in singles play as the Eagles (16-1) beat the Jaguars and advanced to the Class 3A Southern Region final.
The Eagles meet The Meadows at 11 a.m. Thursday at Darling Tennis Center.
Veronica Palacios and Yazaret Arredondo went 3-0 in doubles for Desert Pines (14-5).
The Meadows 16, Moapa Valley 2 — The Meadows (14-1) rolled past Moapa Valley (10-5) and into the region final.
