Josh Navallo sparks The Meadows run game in win at Calvary Chapel

The Meadows’ Josh Navallo ran for a 190 yards and scored five touchdowns Friday as the Mustangs galloped to 52-25 road victory over Calvary Chapel.
Navallo a Mustangs’ ground game that ended up with 306 yards on the night. The sophomore scored the game’s first two touchdowns in the first quarter, on runs of 3 and 27 yards, and added an 85-yard kickoff return for a score shortly before halftime. Navallo picked up two more touchdowns in the second half on runs of 38 and 52 yards.
Peter Hoskins chipped in with 64 rushing yards and a touchdown for The Meadows (3-4, 3-2 2A Southern League), which bounced back from two straight shutout losses with a high-water mark for points in a game this season.
Calvary Chapel quarterback Dylan Sims passed for 352 yards and three touchdowns despite being sacked 12 times. Showing off nifty moves and an ability to throw on the run, Sims hit nine passes of more than 20 yards for the Lions (0-6, 0-5 2A Southern). The junior connected with Paul Yoo for touchdowns of 33 and 31 yards. Yoo ended the night with 129 yards receiving on just four catches.
