2. Liberty (1-1) — The Patriots look to bounce back this week against Alta (Utah).

3. Arbor View (2-0) — The Aggies have topped 50 points in both games so far.

4. Faith Lutheran (0-1) — The Crusaders face a stiff test against Green Valley.

5. Foothill (2-0) — The Falcons have a bye after edging Palo Verde last week.

6. Legacy (2-0) — The Longhorns face a stiffer test on the road against Palo Verde.

7. Green Valley (2-0) — The Gators hope to continue win streak against No. 4 Faith Lutheran.

8. Shadow Ridge (2-0) — Aubrey Nellems leads the area with 375 rushing yards.

9. Spring Valley (2-0) — The Grizzlies face Class 3A Sunrise Mountain on Thursday.

1. Needles (1-0) — The Mustangs play independent Boulder City this week.

2. Lincoln County (1-1) — The Lynx recovered from loss in opener by shutting out White Pine.

3. Lake Mead (0-0) — The Eagles finally get their season started against Class 1A Indian Springs.

4. Laughlin (1-0) — The Cougars jump into the rankings after topping Indian Springs.

5. Democracy Prep (0-1) — The Knights have a bye after a 15-6 loss to Yerington.

Class 1A

1. Pahranagat Valley (1-0) — The Panthers face Independence in their home opener.

2. Spring Mountain (1-0) — The defending state champs start league play at Beaver Dam.

3. Beatty (0-0) — The Hornets open their season against Mammoth (California) this week.

4. Tonopah (1-1) — The Muckers have scored 128 points in two games.

5. Indian Springs (0-1) — The Thunderbirds move into the No. 5 spot this week.
