Roundup: Nestor Cruz’s late goal sends Clark past Spring Valley

Nestor Cruz scored with 12 minutes remaining to break a tie and lead Clark’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 win at Spring Valley on Monday.

Santos Reyes also scored for Clark, and Abraham Dolley had two assists.

John Goecke scored for Spring Valley.

Canyon Springs 2, Centennial 1 — At Centennial, Eduardo Quintero-Rodriguez scored on an assist from Jose Gonzalez in the 55th minute to break a 1-1 tie and give the Pioneers the win over the Bulldogs.

Edgar Muniz scored on a penalty kick in the first half for Centennial.

Jacob Mecham scored for Centennial.

Foothill 1, Green Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Isaac Olsen scored the match’s lone goal in the first half as the Falcons beat the Gators.

William Potter and Nathan Flood combined on the shutout for the Falcons.

Flood made three saves, including one on a penalty kick.

Coronado 4, Silverado 3 — At Silverado, John Lynam scored two goals, and Grant Smyth had a goal and an assist to lead the Cougars past the Skyhawks.

Harrison Poste also scored, and Justin Irungaray had two assists for Coronado, which led 3-1 at halftime.

Joel Samayoa and Jaime Ayala each scored for Silverado, which also benefited from an own goal.

Las Vegas 2, Chaparral 2 — At Chaparral, Anthony Gonzalez scored midway through the second half to tie the game for the Wildcats and force a draw with the Cowboys.

Haidar Ortega also scored for the Wildcats.

Osbaldo Espinoza and Bryan Macias scored the Cowboys’ goals.

Durango 3, Bishop Gorman 3 — At Gorman, Ryan Rasmussen scored for the Gaels with 10 minutes remaining to force a draw against the Trailblazers.

William Haiku had two goals, and Marcos Delgado also scored for the Trailblazers, who trailed 2-1 at halftime.

Corrigan Neville scored on a penalty kick for the Gaels, and teammate Hayden Madsen had a goal.

Liberty 3, Basic 0 — At Liberty, Ben Stang had a goal and an assist as the Patriots blanked the Wolves.

Hayden Prasad and Andrew Velasco also scored goals for Liberty.

Jorge Rodriguez recorded the shutout with two saves.

Bonanza 5, Desert Oasis 2 — At Fidel Ordaz scored twice to power the Bengals over the Diamondbacks.

Jonas Bryant had a goal and two assists for Bonanza, which scored five goals in the second half. Teammates Sergie Delgado and Guillermo Mungia scored, and Efrain Mayorga had two assists.

Ethan Kovach and Haiko Hovak both scored for the Diamondbacks.

Del Sol 3, Moapa Valley 1 — At Overton, Sergio Calderon and Yerovys Vargas-Gill each scored a goal to lead the Dragons past the Pirates.

The Dragons also benefited from an own goal. Jose Moreno-Mendez had two assists for Del Sol.

Sebastean Gutierrez scored for Moapa Valley.

Tech 8, Boulder City 1 — At Tech, seven different players scored a goal for the Roadrunners as they rolled past the Eagles.

Juan Mota led the team with two goals. Gabriel Aguilar, Aaron Castro, Jose Bailon, Anthony Garcia, Durand Farr and Cruz Velazquez each scored once for Tech, which led 3-0 at halftime.

Velazquez added three assists, and Eduardo Gomez added two assists for the Roadrunners.

Virgin Valley 6, Somerset-Sky Pointe 0 — At Mesquite, Christian Martinez scored four goals as the Bulldogs rolled past the Eagles.

Miguel Escobedo and Jesus Navarro also scored for Virgin Valley.

Oscar Wesley Pazen-Padilla recorded the shutout with two saves.
