2017 Desert Oasis Boys Cross Country Capsule

DESERT OASIS

League: Class 4A Southwest

Head coach: Jerome Streets, third season

Returning lettermen: Nine

Top athletes: Brien Hosier (Sr.), Ricardo Haro (Sr.), Landon Morrison (Jr.), Conner Nicholas (Jr.), Traylen Ruch (Jr.), Spencer White (Jr.), Bradley Johnson (So.)

Outlook: The Diamondbacks are a year wiser and more experienced as nine lettermen return, including seven who finished in the 68 of the Southwest League meet last year.

Ruch (24th place) and Morrison (27th) finished in the top 30 of the league meet.

“The Diamondbacks boys team is looking to be more competitive against the strong cross country programs of the Sunset Region,” Streets said. “The team must build more consistency and work together to achieve their goals.

“These goals include competing for divisional and regional championships, as well as earning a spot in the state meet.”
