Roundup: Clark boys knock off defending 4A champ Palo Verde

Clark had a pair of undefeated doubles teams on Tuesday as the visiting Chargers edged defending Class 4A state champion Palo Verde 10-8 in boys tennis.

The teams of Michael Pasimio and Simran Shah, and Aria Khiabani and Mark Bernales each finished 3-0 for Clark.

Jack Kostrinsky was 2-1 in singles to lead Palo Verde.

Green Valley 10, Liberty 8 — At Liberty, Ryan Elezra went 3-0 in singles to help the Gators top the Patriots.

Thomas Blomquist and Josh Gordon went 3-0 in doubles for Liberty.

Bonanza 11, Sierra Vista 7 — At Bonanza, Marshall Nelson and Stone Perry teamed to go 3-0 in doubles as the Bengals topped the Mountain Lions.

Justin Balconi and Mark Thuet each went 2-1 in singles for Bonanza.

Andrew True was 3-0 in singles to lead Sierra Vista.

Spring Valley 12, Durango 6 — At Spring Valley, Vangeli Zimmerman and Kyle Moser each went 2-1 in singles to help the Grizzlies take down the Trailblazers.

Andres Carrasco and Ilan Gonzalez went 2-1 in doubles for Spring Valley.

Arjay Angus was 3-0 in singles for Durango.

Desert Pines 12, Las Vegas 6 — At Desert Pines, Treasure Nyame, Kevin Giron, and Adan Cano each went 3-0 in singles as the Jaguars downed the Wildcats.

Jose Ruiz and Alfredo Murillo went 3-0 in doubles for Desert Pines.

Bishop Gorman 12, Centennial 6 — At Bishop Gorman, Blake Weismann and Max Wolfson each went 2-0 in singles to help lead the Gaels to victory over the Bulldogs.

Michael Connors and Matt Lamb combined to go 2-0 in doubles for Gorman.

Faith Lutheran 13, Shadow Ridge 5 — At Faith Lutheran, Sam Hertig and Liam Stumacher went 3-0 in doubles to lead the Crusaders past the Mustangs.

Jonah Grepke was 2-0 in singles for Faith Lutheran.

Ethan Aldrich went 2-1 in singles for Shadow Ridge.

Silverado 16, Valley 2 — At Valley, Owen Cox finished 3-0 in singles as the Skyhawks routed the Vikings.

Nicholas Jianu went 2-1 to pace Valley.

Foothill 17, Basic 1 — At Foothill, Travis Weber and Stefan Sretenovic each went 3-0 in singles as the Falcons topped the Wolves.

The doubles teams of Ben Crawford and Dominic Gonzalez, and Landon Henderson and Joel Benavidez each went 3-0 for Foothill.

Moapa Valley 18, Chaparral 0 — At Chaparral, Chase Hadley, Conner Batty and Adam Smedley each finished 3-0 in singles as the Pirates blanked the Cowboys.

Boulder City 18, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, Andre Pappas and Sam O’Berto each went 3-0 in singles to as the Eagles shut out the Bulldogs.

Tech 12, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, the Roadrunners defeated the Dragons by forfeit.

Canyon Spring vs. Coronado — At Coronado, the match between the Pioneers and Cougars was canceled because of lightning.
