SOFTBALL: Foothill routs Las Vegas in five innings

Jocelyn Shupp was 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs, and Katelyn Enzweiler finished 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs Friday to lift Foothill’s softball team to a 15-2 win over visiting Las Vegas in five innings.
Caitlyn Stevenson was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, and Sadie Christian drove in two runs for Foothill, which scored seven runs in the second to go up 9-0.
Falcons starter Leah Becker scattered eight hits and allowed two runs to earn the victory.
Sarina Ramirez was 3-for-3 with a run to lead Las Vegas.
Summer Horn went 2-for-2, and Arienn Ackerman and Angelina Visitacion each had RBIs for the Wildcats.
Coronado 16, Valley 0 — At Coronado, Jillian James threw a three-inning perfect game as the Cougars routed the Vikings.
James struck out four. Marissa Kopp was 2-for-2 with three RBIs to lead Coronado’s 12-hit attack.
Rancho 16, Canyon Springs 1 — At Rancho, Kaitlyn Suarez tossed a four-inning no-hitter and went 1-for-3 with an RBI as the Rams defeated the Pioneers.
Rancho’s Yesenia Parada went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while teammates Jazmin Gonzalez and Leah Vandenakker each went 1-for-3.
Desert Oasis 17, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Hailey Jaramillo was 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Paisley Garcia drove in four runs to help the Diamondbacks to a four-inning win over the Grizzlies.
Jazmyne Compehos threw a no-hitter with five strikeouts for Desert Oasis.
Makayla Rickard finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs as the Diamondbacks pounded out 17 hits.
Durango 16, Bonanza 0 — At Durango, Avahly Geraldo went 2-for-2 with a three-run home run to end the game in the third inning, and every hitter in the Trailblazers lineup reached safely as they defeated the Bengals.
Kaitlin Fazendin and Destiny Cisneros each hit a two-run homer, and Keely Thompson also went 2-for-2 for Durango.
Trinity Valentine tossed all three innings and struck out seven to earn the victory.
Cheyenne 17, Desert Pines 1 — At Cheyenne, Victoria Rosales was 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, and the Desert Shields pounded the Jaguars in three innings.
Madelynn Kennedy allowed two hits and one run with six strikeouts to earn the win for Cheyenne.
Mireyah Ortiz drove in Desert Pines’ lone run.
Mojave 15, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Mojave, Emilee Mitton was 4-for-4 with a triple and seven RBIs to help the Rattlers rout the Miners in four innings.
Jesika Smith was 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Ariel Wilson went 2-for-4 with a double for Mojave.
Wilson allowed four hits and struck out three to earn the victory.
Pahranagat Valley 19, Virgin Valley 13 — At Alamo, Karley Whipple was 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Panthers over the Bulldogs.
Kaitly Davis was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for Pahranagat Valley, and teammate Morgan Harris went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Savannah Price was 3-for-5 with a double and a triple to lead Virgin Valley. Melissa Vanorsdale went 3-for-5 for the Bulldogs, and teammate Taylor Barnum homered.
Lincoln County 1-16, Needles 14-4 — At Needles, California, the Lynx and Mustangs split a doubleheader.
