GOLF: Faith Lutheran boys win Northwest League match

Charlie Magruder carded a 2-over-par 74 at Paiute on Monday to help the Faith Lutheran boys golf team win a Northwest League match.
The Crusaders finished with 396 for the day, edging Palo Verde by two strokes. Arbor View (450), Centennial (464) and Shadow Ridge (465) were the other schools to field full teams.
Jacob Sherwood of Centennial shot 73 to earn medalist honors. Arbor View’s Hazen Newman shot 74 to tie Magruder for second place.
Jared Ramsay shot a 77 to finish in sixth for the Crusaders, and teammate Dylan Martin tied for seventh with a 77.
Jett Isoda of Palo Verde shot a 75 to place fourth, the top finish for the Panthers.
Bishop Gorman rolls in Southwest match
At Rhodes Ranch, the Gaels placed four golfers in the top eight to run away from the pack in a Southwest League match.
Bishop Gorman’s 397 won the meet, followed by Desert Oasis (453), Sierra Vista (456) and Bonanza (504).
Mitchell Abbott’s 3-over-par 75 was the best finish for the Gales, and Joseph Williams and Matt Lamb each shot a 79 to tie for sixth. Teammate Michael Spriggs carded an 80 to place eighth.
Desert Oasis’ Morgan Cooper placed first with 74.
Boulder City wins Sunrise match
At Las Vegas National, Virgin Valley’s Hogan Fowles carded a 4-over-par 75 to win the Sunrise League match,.
Boulder City had golfers in five of the top six spots to place first as a team with a 438.
Boulder City’s Jackson Wright (83), Cade Neilson (85), Samu Jancuk (85), Kyler Atkinson (89) and Kevin Phelps (96) all finished after Fowles.
Moapa Valley was second with 555, and Del Shot shot 645 to place third.
