BASEBALL: Daniel Valdivia scores winning run in seventh as Cimarron edges Arbor View

Daniel Valdivia scored the go-ahead run on a bases-loaded walk by Noah Parker in the top of the seventh inning Monday to lift Cimarron-Memorial’s baseball team to a 2-1 road win over Arbor View.

Valdivia started the two-out rally with a single.

Cody Koslowski pitched six innings of one-run ball for the Spartans before giving way to Nick Restifo, who pitched a perfect seventh for the save. Parker also doubled for Cimarron.

Austin Pfeifer threw 6⅔ innings for the Aggies and struck out 10. Arbor View’s Talon LeBaron doubled twice, and Jesse Pierce hit a double.

Sunrise Mountain 8, Cheyenne 7 — At Sunrise Mountain, Earl Garrett’s two-out RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning lifted the Miners over the Desert Shields.

Dalton Pytrysson, Brian Ruiz and Eduardo Avelino each doubled and drove in a run to lead the Miners at the plate. Donovan Hansen also doubled for the Miners.

Ramon Daniels hit a two-run double to lead Cheyenne.

Pahrump Valley 10, Desert Pines 6 — At Desert Pines, Willie Lucas’ three-run triple in the top of the sixth inning helped the Trojans rally past the Jaguars.

The Trojans scored five runs in the sixth inning to overcome a 6-4 deficit.

Drew Walker went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for the Trojans.

Garrett Lucas allowed three earned runs and fanned eight over 6⅔ innings to pick up the win.

Juan Casteneda went 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI to lead the Jaguars.

Palo Verde 14, Legacy 4 — At Palo Verde, Jaxon Hammond hit a grand slam, and Jaret Godman added a solo homer to lead the Panthers to a five-inning victory over the Longhorns.

Mike Marinch struck out eight over four innings to earn the win, and Ryan Merino went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Palo Verde, which scored nine runs in the first inning to take control.

Tyler Kim doubled, and Chandler Kochan was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Panthers.

Donta Williams was 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs for Legacy, and teammate Anthony Lomeli added a double.

Shadow Ridge 15, Faith Lutheran 3 — At Shadow Ridge, Nick Erickson homered and had five RBIs as the Mustangs blew by the Crusaders in five innings.

Justin Lee and Vinny Archer each went 3-for-3 with three doubles for the Mustangs, and Dylan Baker doubled and had three RBIs. Lee and teammate Nick Thomas both scored three times.

Paulshawn Pasqualotto doubled and scored twice for Faith Lutheran, and Sagan Gronauer doubled.

Mojave 17, Western 3 — At Western, Scott Wilson struck out 14 in his complete-game victory and went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and four runs to help the Rattlers down the Warriors.

Dylan Smith was 4-for-5 with two doubles and a run for the Rattlers.

Sierra Vista 12, Clark 0 — At Clark, Cooper Kitrel was 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBIs, and Daymien Yohner went 2-for-4 with two doubles to lead the Mountain Lions past the Chargers in five innings.

Cody Culpepper drove in two runs, and Nicholas Morice scored three runs for Sierra Vista, which also got a double from Nicholas Lasker.

Zachary Kreithe struck out five over three innings to earn the win.
