Rattlers roll to Meadows Invitational title

Nick Kline, Devon Flowers and Don Phillips each won two events Saturday to lead Mojave’s boys track team to the title at The Meadows Invitational.

Kline won the 100-meter dash in 11.69 seconds, and cleared 11 feet, 1 inch to take the pole vault. Flowers was first in the 400 (53.69) and 800 (2:15.46), and Phillips won the shot put (46-7¾) and discus (145-1) for the Rattlers.

Mojave finished with 277 points, easily outdistancing second-place White Pine (160).

Mojave’s James Fincher won the 3,200 (11:23.22) and was second in the 1600, and teammate Quincy Smith won the long jump (19-9¾) and was second in the triple jump.

In the girls meet, White Pine rolled to the team title with 242½ points. Agassi Prep was second with 142½, an Mojave was third at 132.

Madison Rick led the Bobcats, winning the 100 (12.88), 200 (27.84) and high jump (4-10).

Agassi Prep’s Aniya Smith won the 400 (1:06.27) and was second in the 100.

Mojave’s Anahi Rosales was first in the 1,600 (5:55.49) and second in the pole vault, and teammate Destini Bolden won the discus (32-7½) and was second in the discus.
