BOYS GOLF: Austen Ancell, Pahrump Valley coast to win in Sunset League match

Austen Ancell shot 3-over-par 75 to take medalist honors Tuesday and help Pahrump Valley’s boys golf team win a Class 3A Sunset League match at The Club at Sunrise.

The Trojans shot 464 as a team, with Western second at 587 followed by Desert Pines (636).

Western’s Jared Smith shot 82 to finish second.

Case Murphy of Pahrump was third at 93, and teammate Michael McDougall shot 96 to finish fourth.

Mojave’s Marcus Mullins was fifth at 97.

Centennial tops Arbor View

At Paiute, Dillon Gault shot 4-over 40 to lead Centennial to a 223-236 victory over Arbor View in a nine-hole dual match.

Hazen Newman carded a 38 to earn medalist honors for Arbor View, and teammate Cameron Gambini shot 40 to tie with Gault for second place.
