GIRLS BASKETBALL: Desert Oasis downs Spring Valley, clinches Southwest League title

Eliyjah Pricebrooks led four double-figure scorers with 16 points Wednesday, as the Desert Oasis girls basketball team staved off visiting Spring Valley to win 64-57 and clinch the Southwest League title.

It is the first league title in school history for the Diamondbacks.

Dajaah Lightfoot tallied 14 points, Mikala Kirby had 13 points, and Ashlynn Sharp scored 12 for Desert Oasis, which led 42-29 after three quarters.

Essence Booker led all scorers with 22 points for Spring Valley. Alexus Quaadman added 11 points, and Deja McDonald scored 10 for the Grizzlies.

Sierra Vista 50, Durango 34 — At Durango, Shania Harper fired in 26 points as the Mountain Lions rallied past the Trailblazers.

Kayla Smith added nine points, and Iymoni Burrell scored seven points for Sierra Vista, which trailed 26-15 at halftime but outscored Durango 35-8 in the second half.

Laila Loring and Dar’Juanah Harris each tallied 11 points for Durango.

Canyon Springs 51, Las Vegas 37 — At Las Vegas, Dayonna Maddox scored 13 points, and the Pioneers used a 19-11 fourth-quarter run to defeat the Wildcats.

Ke’Ajanae Haley added 12 points for Canyon Springs.

Armonnie Byrd notched 14 points and 24 rebounds for Las Vegas. Teconna Dyer had 12 points, and teammate Jasmine Perez scored 10 for the Wildcats.

Rancho 42, Eldorado 27 — At Rancho, Aleese Hall scored 12 points to lead the Rams past the Sundevils.

Lea Williams and Kyndal Ricks added seven points each for Rancho, which led 23-13 at halftime.

Ka’Vianna Kitch led Eldorado with 11 points.

Clark 45, Bonanza 31 — At Clark, Monique Daniels had 16 points to help lift the Chargers over the Bengals.

Marieka Dent had 12 points for the Chargers, who led 24-11 at halftime.

Madie Gonzalez led Bonanza with 11 points.

Boulder City 35, Chaparral 25 — At Boulder City, Madison Manns scored nine points as the Eagles defeated the Cowboys.

Keely Alexander added seven points for Boulder City, which outscored Chaparral 20-12 over the middle quarters.

Alexandria Williams had eight points to pace the Cowboys.

Moapa Valley 61, Tech 27 — At Overton, Kinlee Marshall tallied 22 points as the Pirates routed the Roadrunners.

Lainey Cornwall had nine points, and Madison Bush and Kaila Enosa supplied seven points each for Moapa Valley, which rolled to a 30-15 halftime lead.

Patrice Thomas led Tech with 10 points.

Virgin Valley 53, Del Sol 14 — At Mesquite, Briana Todd scored 15 points as the Bulldogs dismantled the Dragons.

Nathalie Lagamayo added nine points, and Bernice Fiso supplied seven points for Virgin Valley, which cruised to a 34-9 halftime lead.

Ana Ozuna led Del Sol with eight points.

Legacy and Canyon Springs couldn’t keep up in the Class 4A girls basketball state semifinals. The Southern Region representatives in 3A also were eliminated.
