BASKETBALL: Somerset-Sky Pointe boys rally to take down GV Christian

Somerset-Sky Pointe used a strong first quarter and an even stronger fourth quarter to down GV Christian at home Monday, 58-46.

Somerset-Sky Pointe jumped out to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter, only to score just two points in the second frame and take a 41-36 deficit into the final quarter. Somerset-Sky Pointe proceeded to outscore GV Christian 22-5, led by eight points from Danny Cox, who finished with a team-high 16 points.

Cox also scored eight points in the first quarter. Teammate Derek Magee supplied 12 points in the game.

Gregory Fields led GV Christian with 16 points, and Collin Killoran had 12 points.

GV Christian 40, Somerset-Sky Pointe 27 — At Somerset-Sky Pointe, Hope Watson’s 14 points led GV Christian over Somerset-Sky Pointe.

Abigail Johnson scored 10 points for GV Christian.
