FLAG FOOTBALL: Katy Orellana, Tech hold off visiting Boulder City

Tech’s Katy Orellana ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries as the Roadrunners’ flag football team held on for a 12-7 home win over Boulder City on Friday.

Maria Galindo added an interception for Tech, which held Boulder City scoreless until the final minute.

Desert Oasis 21, Durango 0 — At Desert Oasis, Makayla Rickard completed 9 of 16 passes for 150 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 25 yards on three carries to lift the Diamondbacks over the Trailblazers.

Rickard hit Aniyah Reed, Lillyana Ghanem and Leiana Macusi on scoring strikes for Desert Oasis, which led 14-0 at halftime.

Ghanem had six catches for 81 yards, and Izriah Hodson had 11 carries for 80 yards for the Diamondbacks.

Virgin Valley 40, Chaparral 6 — At Mesquite, Kallie Graves threw three touchdowns, and the Bulldogs hammered the Cowboys.

Graves went 10-for-17 for 109 yards passing and also added a one-point conversion run. Dylan Bryant, Alyson Cook and Makenzie Leishman each caught a TD pass from Graves.

Katie Zuniga ran for 98 yards and two scores on 14 carries, and Emily Teerlink added a 5-yard TD run for Virgin Valley, which led 27-6 at halftime.

Bryant and teammate Shalee Hafen each had an interception.

Bonanza 20, Clark 0 — At Clark, Brianna Hernandez-Silva rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns and completed 6 of 12 passes and a TD as the Bengals blanked the Chargers.

The senior passed 10,000 all-purpose yards for her four-year career at Bonanza.

Lauren Marcus had seven catches for 93 yards for Clark.

Sierra Vista 39, Spring Valley 0 — At Sierra Vista, Courtney O’Neal had 15 carries for 230 yards and three touchdowns as the Mountain Lions routed the Grizzlies.

Kalei Watkins threw for 175 yards and two TDs for Sierra Vista, which led 20-0 at halftime.

Del Sol 25, Moapa Valley 6 — At Del Sol, the Dragons rushed for 223 total yards in their victory over the Pirates.

Angel Jones completed 8 of 16 passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Melisa Taugasolo caught a 35-yard TD from Jones for Del Sol, which led 19-6 at halftime.

Moapa Valley’s Alexis Peay completed 15 of 32 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. Luisa Thieleman caught a 12-yard TD from Peay for the Pirates.

Canyon Springs 24, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, the Pioneers grabbed an 18-0 halftime lead before downing the Sundevils.

Las Vegas 19, Valley 13 — At Valley, the Wildcats did all their scoring in the first half to beat the Vikings.
