BOYS BASKETBALL: Cheyenne upsets Desert Pines behind Kavon Williams’ 16 points

Kavon Williams scored a game-high 16 points to help Cheyenne’s boys basketball team upset visiting Desert Pines 56-52 on Tuesday.

Marcus Greer added 10 points, and D’Andre Houston scored seven for the Desert Shields, who led 25-17 at halftime and 41-35 after three quarters.

Jalen Graves led Desert Pines with 15 points. Trevon Abdullah-Booker had 14 points, and Capri Uzan scored 12 for the Jaguars.

Foothill 65, Green Valley 51 — At Green Valley, Jace Roquemore had 13 points, and Mauricio Smith scored 12 to lead the Falcons past the Gators.

Marvin Coleman added 11 points for Foothill, which outscored Green Valley 26-10 in the fourth quarter.

Matthew Tuttle led Green Valley with 18 points. Steven Fojas and Eric Johnson each supplied 11 points for the Gators.

Coronado 79, Silverado 63 — At Silverado, Kennedy Koehler poured in 34 points to lead the Cougars by the Skyhawks.

Trey Hurlburt added 15 points for Coronado, which led 42-33 at halftime.

Devin Ross had 28 points, and Caden Farley scored 14 for Silverado.

Centennial 69, Palo Verde 49 — At Palo Verde, Troy Brown had 19 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs past the Panthers.

Alijah Henderson added 14 points, Niklas Brown had 13 points and Isaiah Banks scored 11 for Centennial.

The Bulldogs outscored Palo Verde 19-11 in the second quarter to take a 35-23 halftime advantage.

Joshua Darling led the Panthers with 12 points, and teammate Crew Peterson scored 10.

Cimarron-Memorial 99, Arbor View 83 — At Cimarron, Demarco Alexander had 36 points and eight rebounds, and Keiron Hatchett added 19 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and four steals to help the Spartans defeat the Aggies.

Brian Washington had nine points and 11 rebounds for Cimarron, which outscored Arbor View 55-43 in the second half after leading by only four points at halftime.

Comillion Smith had 24 points, and Jarrod Burks scored 19 for Arbor View.

Liberty 67, Basic 40 — At Liberty, Tyrone Marigney led a balanced attack with 10 points as the Patriots downed the Wolves.

Dyllan Robinson, Julian Strawther, and Davion Ware each scored nine points for Liberty, which outscored Basic 20-3 in the fourth quarter.

Cris Dominguez had 10 points to lead Basic.

Faith Lutheran 89, Shadow Ridge 63 — At Shadow Ridge, Nick Maccioni led four players in double figures with 28 points, and the hot-shooting Crusaders defeated the Mustangs.

Elijah Kothe had 16 points, Connor Nichols added 15 points and Brevin Walter scored 10 for Faith Lutheran, which 48-29 at halftime.

James Fuller led Shadow Ridge with 30 points, and teammate Kevin Branch scored 11.

Western 51, Mojave 41 — At Western, Kwan Carter scored 18 points as the Warriors rallied past the Rattlers.

Anthony Dodson added 16 points for Western, which trailed 27-22 at halftime.

John Harper led Mojave with 13 points.

Sunrise Mountain 53, Pahrump Valley 42 — At Pahrump, Steven Adeyemi scored 14 points as the Miners rolled by the Trojans.

Stephen Wright had seven points for Sunrise Mountain, which outscored Pahrump 31-15 over the middle quarters.

Parker Hart led Pahrump with 12 points, and teammate David Sidhu scored 11.

Needles 74, Mountain View 30 — At Needles, California, Dillon Darrow had 12 points, six assists and four steals to lead the Mustangs to victory over the Saints.

Trey Tsosie scored 12 points, and teammate Derek Wagstaff added 11 points for Needles, which got eight points and five steals from Frankie Garcia.

Tyrell Brooks scored nine points, and Terrence Brooks had eight points to lead Mountain View.

Spring Mountain 67, Indian Springs 18 — At Indian Springs, Anthony Garrett had a game-high 20 points to help the Golden Eagles rout the Thunderbirds.

Deon Lee added 11 points for Spring Mountain, which led 43-13 at halftime.

Dallin Davis led Indian Springs with nine points.

The Meadows 53, Calvary Chapel 44 — At Calvary Chapel, Asheesh Chopra had 20 points, and the Mustangs used a hot start to down the Lions.

Jake Epstein added 17 points for The Meadows, which jumped out to a 26-12 lead after the first quarter.

Elijah Martinez had a game-high 24 points for Calvary Chapel.
