GIRLS BASKETBALL: TaEha Pankey helps Legacy to pair of wins

TaEha Pankey had 16 points Tuesday to lead Legacy’s girls basketball team to a 52-38 win over St. Monica (California) in the West Coast Festival in Ontario, California.
Rory Carter added 12 points for the Longhorns, who trailed 23-21 at the half.
Legacy 53, West Adams (Calif.) 19 — At Ontario, California, C’Aree Stevenson had 11 points as the Longhorns rolled to the win in the West Coast Festival.
Pankey added eight points for Legacy, which led 18-6 after one quarter and 27-8 at the half.
Sierra Vista 68, Loara (Calif.) 35 — At Anaheim, California, Danielle Morrow had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Mountain Lions routed the Saxons in the Savanna Lady Rebel Holiday Classic.
Kayla Barnum led all scorers with 20 points for Sierra Vista, and teammate Kayla Smith scored 18.
The game was tied at 19 at the half, but Sierra Vista outscored Loara 28-10 in the third quarter to take control.
River Ridge (Ga.) 60, Coronado 38 — At Orlando, Florida, Lexi Palmer had 17 points, and Faith Arthur scored 16 to lead the Knights over the Cougars in the Rock Holiday Classic.
Haley Tyrell led Coronado with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Payton Caci added nine points and eight steals for the Cougars.
