GIRLS BASKETBALL: Fourth quarter powers Cheyenne past Las Vegas

Alaexiah Moore had 11 points, and Ejanae Coopwood scored 10 as the Cheyenne girls basketball team nipped host Las Vegas 55-53 in a game that had 60 free-throw attempts.

Marisha Harden and Starr Hawkins each had eight points for Cheyenne, which made only 7 of 20 free throws.

Jasmine Perez led Las Vegas with 16 points.

Armonnie Byrd had 12 points, Teconna Dyer added 11 points, and Raymani Bordenave scored 10 points for the Wildcats, who finished 17-for-40 on free throws.

Foothill 67, Rancho 43 — At Rancho, Kylie Vint scored 19 points with six rebounds as the Falcons defeated the Rams.

Foothill’s Rae Burrell scored 14 points, and teammate Trinity Betoney scored 13 points with six assists.

Rancho’s Kyndal Ricks led all scorers with 20 points, and Lea Williams scored 15 points.

Clark 54, Bonanza 25 — At Bonanza, Adia Williams and Julie Reid each scored 14 points as the Chargers downed the Bengals.

Marieka Dent added 10 points, and Alexis Green scored eight for Clark, which led 31-18 at halftime.

Makayla Webb and Miranda Acosta had six points apiece to lead Bonanza.

Desert Oasis 57, Durango 13 — At Durango, Mikala Kirby scored 16 points as the Diamondbacks routed the Trailblazers.

Dajaah Lightfoot scored 12 points for Desert Oasis, and Brianna Clark scored 11.

Valley 54, Sunrise Mountain 21 — At Sunrise Mountain, Sondra Scroggins and Almond Slayton each scored 16 points as the Vikings defeated the Miners.

Eldorado 45, Del Sol 33 — At Del Sol, Kiana Parkes scored 20 points as the Sundevils defeated the Dragons.

Eldorado’s Shakayzzia Hunt scored 13 points.

Ashanti Dickson led Del Sol with 13 points.

Tech 38, Pahrump Valley 34 — At Pahrump, Tayler Muwwakkil led all scorers with 19 points as the Roadrunners defeated the Trojans.

Tech’s Melissa Fuller added 11 points.

Helen Vann led Pahrump Valley with 11 points.

Agassi Prep 57, Calvary Chapel 19 — At Agassi Prep, Destiny Rover scored a game-high 25 points to power the Stars by the Lions.

Sharmayne Finley added 13 points, and Raylene Thomas scored eight for Agassi Prep.

Malia Lee led Calvary Chapel with 10 points.

Laughlin 34, The Meadows 19 — At The Meadows, Teresa Chapa scored nine points as the Cougars defeated the Mustangs.

Marcella Peak led The Meadows in scoring with nine points, and supplied 15 rebounds and 10 blocks.

Lincoln County 46, Mountain View 7 — At Mountain View, Sadie Soderborg had 10 points as the Lynx rolled past the Saints.

Kailey Kelley and Kia Phillips each added nine points, and Kristal Jackson scored eight for Lincoln County, which led 18-0 after one quarter.

Castle View (Colo.) 62, Faith Lutheran 29 — At Bishop Gorman, McKay Vansickle scored 20 points to lead the Sabercats over the Crusaders in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Madison Bocobo had eight points for Faith Lutheran, which trailed 31-8 at the half.

Bishop Gorman 67, Arbor View 45 — At Gorman, Caira Young’s 16 points led the Gaels as they went on to defeat the Aggies.

Bishop Gorman’s Quinice Hatcher scored 14 points, and Skylar Jackson finished the game with a double-double, scoring 14 points with 13 rebounds.

Alaysia Reed led Arbor View with 12 points.

Bishop Gorman 57, Desert Hills (Utah) 51 — At Gorman, Shaira Young scored 17 points to lead the Gaels over the Thunder in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Skylar Jackson added 13 poins, and Caira Young scored 10 for Gorman.

Ashley Beckstrand led Desert Hills with 28 points.

Faith Lutheran 46, Coronado 43 — At Gorman, Bryanna Neagle’s 14 points led the Crusaders past the Cougars in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Bocobo added 11 points for the Crusaders.

Coronado’s Payton Caci led all scorers with 17 points, and Talia Sapp and Haley Tyrell each supplied 10 points.

Springville (Utah) 59, Coronado 35 — At Gorman, Savannah Sumision scored 21 points to lead the Red Devils past the Cougars in the Las Vegas Invitational.

Tyrell led Coronado with eight points.

Round Mountain 48, Coleville 20 — At Virginia City, the Knights grabbed a 28-11 halftime lead en route to a win over the Wolves in the Comstock Classic.

Mojave 45, Lake Havasu (Ariz.) 20 — At Flagstaff, Arizona, the Rattlers downed the Fighting Knights in the Pepsi Holiday Invitational.

Mojave 63, Hopi (Ariz.) 36 — At Flagstaff, Arizona, the Rattlers defeated the Bruins in the Pepsi Holiday Invitational.
