BOYS BASKETBALL: Deondre Northey lifts Las Vegas to overtime win over host Green Valley

Las Vegas High’s Deondre Northey scored a game-high 24 points Tuesday to lead the Wildcats’ boys basketball team to a 70-67 overtime win over host Green Valley.

Donovan Joyner had 15 points, Zion Edwards added 13 points, and Josh Valencia scored 10 for Las Vegas.

Canyon Lewis led Green Valley with 18 points. Matthew Tuttle had 17 points, and teammate Eric Johnson scored 12 for the Gators, who made only 16 of 37 free throws (43.2 percent).

Basic 69, Western 68 — At Western, Geoff Faries had a game-high 28 points, and the Wolves held off the Warriors.

Cris Dominguez added 15 points and was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line late to help Basic hang on. The Wolves went 8-for-12 from the foul line as a team in the fourth quarter.

Kwan Carter led Western with 23 points.

Shadow Ridge 78, Mojave 70 — At Shadow Ridge, Kevin Branch led three double-figure scorers with 18 points to lead the Mustangs over the Rattlers.

James Fuller added 17 points, and Isaiah Williams scored 14 for Shadow Ridge.

J. D. McCormick led Mojave with 20 points, and John Harper scored 19 for the Rattlers.

Legacy 73, Cheyenne 61 — At Cheyenne, Quentin Brewster led a balanced scoring attack with 16 points as the Longhorns held off the Desert Shields.

Chris White added 14 points and D’Eric Marlowe scored 13 for Legacy, which outscored Cheyenne 24-14 in the fourth quarter.

Kavon Williams led all scorers with 25 points for Cheyenne, and teammate Damion Bonty supplied 10 points.

Chaparral 66, Silverado 50 — At Silverado, Marcus Hilliard and Jonathan Tendale scored 20 points apiece to lift the Cowboys over the Skyhawks.

Samuel Porras added 11 points for Chaparral, which led 34-24 at halftime.

Caden Farley had 16 points, and Devin Ross scored 12 for Silverado.

Foothill 80, Palo Verde 63 — At Palo Verde, Marvin Coleman had 17 points, and Mauricio Smith scored 16 to lead the Falcons over the Panthers.

Dylan Hushaw added 12 points, and Jace Roquemore and Michael Shaw each scored 11 for Foothill.

Brian Sullivan led Palo Verde with 21 points. Cole Hendershot scored 15 for the Panthers.

Valley 50, Boulder City 33 — At Boulder City, Bryce Jones had 12 points, and John King scored 11 to help the Vikings defeat the Eagles.

Valley, which led only 18-16 at halftime, outscored Boulder City 32-17 in the second half.

Justus Green led Boulder City with 11 points.

Innovations International 64, Beaver Dam 14 — At Innovations International, Justin Evans had 14 points to carry Innovations over the Diamondbacks.

Eugene Stewart had 11 points, and Derec Anderson scored 10 for Innovations.

SLAM Academy 66, Liberty Baptist 42 — At SLAM Academy, the hosts jumped out to a 21-12 lead after one quarter and defeated the Eagles.

Seth Sullivan scored 25 points to lead Liberty Baptist.
