RECRUITING: Centennial boys basketball center Darian Scott selects Missouri State

Centennial senior center Darian Scott, one of the top shot blockers in Southern Nevada last season, made an oral commitment to Missouri State on Tuesday.

Scott’s commitment is nonbinding, and the first day he can sign a letter of intent is Nov. 9. Missouri State’s coaches cannot comment until that time.

The 6-foot-10-inch Scott averaged 4.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots as a junior for Centennial.

He also played for the Las Vegas Knicks travel basketball team and chose Missouri State after making an official visit to the school last month.

Scott had reported scholarship offers from Cal State Fullerton, Campbell, Coppin State, Cornell, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Fresno State, LIU Brooklyn, Northern Colorado, Southern Utah, UC Davis and UNR.
